Martin Zuckerman
Mr. Zuckerman is the longest-serving member of LatinoJustice PRLDEF’s Board of Directors. Mr. Zuckerman retired in 1996 as an executive vice president of the predecessor bank of JP Morgan Chase, NA, where he was a member of the bank's management committee, and had responsibility for the departments of Human Resources World Wide, Risk Management and Disaster Recovery.
Previously, Mr. Zuckerman practiced labor and civil rights law as senior attorney at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett. He was a field attorney at the National Labor Relations Board and served in the U.S. Army as a section chief of a brigade Courts and Boards office.
Mr. Zuckerman retains a limited practice of law focused on employment civil rights, executive employment contracts, and investigation and resolution of employee grievances. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the New York County Bar Association, and is admitted to practice in New York and various federal appellate courts.
Mr. Zuckerman is active in several not-for-profit organizations as a board member and advisor. He was a board member of the Beth Israel Medical Center and its predecessor Doctors Hospital. For over 20 years, Mr. Zuckerman has served as a member of the board of the Puerto Rican Legal Defense and Education Fund.
He has also been a trustee of the Employee Benefits Research Institute and president of the Committee on Labor Law Equality and since 2005 has been a member of the board of the RCHN Community Health Foundation, Inc.
Mr. Zuckerman earned his undergraduate degree in economics from New York University, a J.D. from St. Johns University School of Law and an LL.M in labor law from New York University.
