LJP and co-counsel filed WARN Act class action lawsuit on behalf of several former production workers of this Sullivan County, NY snack food manufacturing plant who were part of a group of over 200 Latino workers simultaneously discharged without any advance notice in a mass firing in May 2015. The complaint alleges that the employer, violated the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining (WARN) Act by failing to give written advance notice on the mass layoff, as required by the (WARN).
Tentative confidential settlement reached after mediation on August 24, 2017. After fairness hearing, the Court in June 2018 approved final settlement agreement of $200,000 for the estimated class of 240 workers who were discharged without notice.
