Roberto Cruz is the Managing Attorney of the Southeast Region for LatinoJustice PRLDEF.  Prior to his appointment, Cruz was the Director of Farmworkers Advocacy and Community Lawyering at Florida Rural Legal Services, Inc. In addition, his nonprofit work includes serving as Managing Attorney for the Kissimmee Office of Community Legal Services of Mid-Florida, Inc. and as Advocacy Director and CEO of the Legal Advocacy Center of Central Florida, Inc. Cruz also represented veterans and their families as part of the VALOR Project at Coast to Coast Legal Aid of South Florida. In academia, Cruz served as Clinician at Florida A & M University College of Law, where he headed the Homelessness Prevention Clinic. In government, Cruz was former assistant state attorney with the Public Policy and Fast Track Litigation Section of the Puerto Rico Department of Justice. In private practice, he represented Fortune 100 companies in complex business litigation for Estrella, LLC, a member of Meritas, one of the world's largest alliances of prequalified independent law firms. He holds a JD from the InterAmerican University School of Law, where he was a member of the Law Review. Cruz is admitted in Puerto Rico and Florida State courts.
