Meena is an Equal Justice Works Fellow Sponsored by Anonymous working to document and challenge discriminatory police surveillance, racial profiling, and lack of police accountability on Long Island. Her interests also focus on illuminating and combatting oppressive regulations of noncitizens and mixed-status families through an intersectional immigrant rights, criminal justice, and economic justice lens.
Meena graduated from NYU School of Law in 2021, where she was a Furman Academic Scholar, Hays Civil Liberties Fellow, Student Advocate with the NYU Immigrant Rights Clinic, and co-founder of the NYU Law & Political Economy Association. As a law student, Meena gained diverse experience by interning with the ACLU, the Legal Aid Society, Make the Road New Jersey, and LatinoJustice PRLDEF. Previously, she also earned a B.A. in History and Political Science from Columbia University and an M.A. in Conflict Studies and Human Rights from Utrecht University in the Netherlands.
