Valarie joined Latino Justice PRLDEF as the People Ops Manager in March 2022. During her 15-year tenure with the City of New York, she worked in various aspects of Human Resources such as payroll, health benefits, and HR data compliance. Throughout all her roles, Valarie maintained proper financial record keeping, adhered to HR policies, Union contracts, and Federal, NYS, and Local laws. Valarie’s attention to detail, thorough research, and ability to work accurately with large amounts of information and data are some of her key strengths. Her intrinsic motivation, follow through capacity and high energy, are qualities that make her a unique contributor to LJP’s culture.
As a Girl Scout, Valarie learned the importance of helping her community and the fulfilling nature of working surrounded by value driven people. She was able to continue this passion when she worked as an Election Day Worker assisting voters during the voting process.
A graduate of Brooklyn College, Valarie received her Bachelor of Arts in Puerto Rican Latino Studies and Business.
She is a native New Yorker, avid reader, and photography enthusiast, with a passion to help her community who is now thrilled to join LatinoJustice as part of the People Ops team.
