LatinoJustice and NHCSL Testify On Implementation of the Referendum on Cannabis and Marijuana Legalization in New Jersey

On February 15, 2021, Juan Cartagena, President and General Counsel at LatinoJustice and Guillermo Mena, Director of Legislation, Policy and Advocacy at the National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators (NHCSL) gave joint testimony on the implementation of the Referendum on Cannabis and Marijuana Legalization in New Jersey. The testimony focused on stopping the shift of policing from adults to youth, and the enormous potential the passage of said legislation would have to reverse the significant harms that prohibitionist marijuana policies have had on Latino communities in the country, including New Jersey.
