LatinoJustice PRLDEF and Latino Rebels to Launch Weekly Show

Our communities are strongest when our own voices are heard, seen, and amplified.

That is why LatinoJustice PRLDEF is excited to announce the launch of a new weekly online show in collaboration with the independent media organization Latino Rebels. The show will provide an opportunity for Latinx advocates, academics and community members to share their knowledge while engaging in roundtable discussions on issues ranging from the impact of marijuana legalization on Latino communities to the historic use of state violence against Latinos in the United States.

The weekly show will air every Friday at 1pm ET on Latino Rebels' Facebook and Twitter properties and will be hosted by Julio Ricardo Varela, founder and publisher of Latino Rebels.

Juan Cartagena, President and General Counsel of LatinoJustice PRLDEF, says: "There is no better truth-teller, no better expert on the lives of the Latinx community than the Latinx gente themselves. We are excited for the opportunity to engage in weekly conversations directly with our community and are thankful to Latino Rebels for hosting and moderating our discussions."

Julio Ricardo Varela, founder and publisher of Latino Rebels, says: "Ever since the launch of Latino Rebels in 2011, our mission has always been to elevate and amplify community voices. The only way we change uninformed perceptions is by directly challenging them through bold and fearless journalism. We are honored to moderate these critical conversations that every American should follow."
