LatinoJustice Statement on Repressive Anti-Voting Bill out of Georgia

The following statement can be attributed to Lourdes M. Rosado, President and General Counsel, LatinoJustice PRLDEF:

“Following historic voter turnout for Georgia’s runoff election for Senate, the state’s legislature seems hellbent on changing election rules to selectively curtail access to the ballot for certain voters, primarily voters of color. From removing the use of drop boxes to expanding individual voter challenges, this omnibus bill is squarely aimed at repressing historically disenfranchised communities now making their voices heard in our democracy. Access to the ballot is a right, not a privilege, one that we will continue to defend against anti-democratic efforts like this one.”
