Statement on the Verdict in the Kyle Rittenhouse Trial

On Friday, November 19th, 2021 Kyle Rittenhouse was found not guilty on all charges in the Kenosha shootings.

The following is a statement issued by LatinoJustice PRLDEF President and General Counsel, Lourdes M. Rosado on the verdict:

"Today's verdict acquitting Kyle Rittenhouse of all charges after he murdered two people in a horrific act of vigilantism reinforces a dangerous dichotomy in the U.S. justice system. A system in which hate-filled white males who commit violence can be viewed as hapless children while black and brown teens are vilified as irredeemable villains is inherently unjust. This verdict makes us all less safe and we must continue to advocate for changes to a justice system that empowers a privileged few."
