The CAP Leadership Institute, named for LatinoJustice co-founder Cesar A. Perales, continues our long history of developing Latinx leaders – from attorneys and judges to politicians, educators and corporate and nonprofit leaders. To ensure that young Latinx have the opportunity to follow in the path of such leaders as U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, the CAP Leadership Institute provides students and young professionals with comprehensive programs and services to support them as they pursue professional and civic leadership.
Over the past 45+ years, more than 10,000 students have participated in the LatinoJustice pipeline programs. Additionally, thousands of Latinx have been equipped with information, tools and skills to become community, civic and corporate leaders. The CAP Leadership Institute provides legal pipeline and education programs, as well as leadership development and civic engagement opportunities, to help Latinx students and young professionals to thrive and grow as professionals and leaders.
LatinoJustice’s legal pipeline education programs help Latinx students prepare for college, graduate and law school. Our programs run the gamut from LSAT Prep courses to mentoring and internships. Young people, ages 16 to 24, participate as volunteers and youth ambassadors through our Youth Civic Engagement program and young Latinx professionals participate in networking and leadership development through our LJP Lideres young professionals board.
Weil, Gotshal and Manges, LLP, Southwest Airlines and Shearman and Sterling, LLP are among the proud sponsors of the CAP Leadership Institute.
